The Indian Premier League is set to begin next month and most of the teams have already reached UAE while the others will join them very soon. The overseas players of all teams have not yet joined their teammates as the players from different teams are in different countries. These include players from Caribbean countries as well where the CPL 2020 tournament is on the go. Well, the dressing rooms of Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals must be enjoying the tournament very much.
KKR all-rounder Sunil Narine and DC batsman Shimron Hetmyer have made a splash in the CPL. While Narine has performed with both ball and bat in the first two matches of the tournament, Hetmyer has marked his presence with his bat. Thanks to Naren’s two consecutive half-centuries, his team Trinbago Knight Riders have captured the top position of the CPL 2020 table. Trinbago beat Jamaica Talhavas by seven wickets in the second match.
Trinbago is now the only team that has won both its matches. In the second match, Trinbago won the toss and decided to bowl first. Narine took one wicket in his four overs while conceiving just 19 runs. Talhavas’s team was able to score only 135 runs losing eight wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. Trinbago’s lost Lendl Simmons on the third delivery of the innings but after that, Narine (53 runs on 38 balls) and Coleen Manro (49 not out on 46 balls) took over. While Naren hit seven fours and two sixes in his innings, Manro hit five fours and two sixes.
Sunil Narine has accumulated two half-centuries in two matches. Naren has so far scored 103 runs in this tournament at a strike rate of 156.06, while Hetmyer has 134 runs at a strike rate of 152.27. After these splendid performances, the players will join KKR and DC in the IPL 2020 next month. The team management and coaches of the teams must be really happy with these performances and they must be crossing their fingers together to continue them performing the same.
