Slated to begin on August 19th in Trinidad and Tobago, the Caribbean Premier League 2020 (CPL) will be the first T20 league to take place amidst the Covid-19 outbreak. Over the years, CPL has truly seen various flashes of brilliance from youngsters like Pooran, Santokhie, and Cottrell.

Right from the exhilarating chases to nail-biting defenses, from smacking sixes to knock out thrills – all the six Caribbean Premier League teams are ready for the next superhit event. With the matches to bowl off at Kensington Oval in August, the Barbados Trident CPL team is all set to impress the cricket fanatics with their unique strategy and cricket style.

With the announcement of the Barbados Tridents squad 2020, it is quite evident why the tridents are the reigning champions and 2-times CPL title holder. As the Barbados Tridents Players are extremely powerful in the batting order, it is inevitable for the opponent team to defeat them in the upcoming tournament. Here’s the list of the updated squad:

Retained: Jason Holder, Harry Gurney (Overseas), Shai Hope, Hayden Walsh Jr, Ashley Nurse, Jonathan Carter, Raymon Reifer, and Justin Greaves.
Signed: Rashid Khan (Overseas), Marcus Stoinis (Overseas), Johnson Charles, and Nyeem Young.
Drafted: Alex Hales (Overseas), Kyle Mayers, Joshua Bishop, Rahmanullah Gurbaz (Overseas), and Shayan Jahangir (ICC Americas pick).

BARBADOS TRIDENTS FIXTURES

Representing the flying fish island – Barbados, The Tridents is one of the six teams originally created in the inaugural CPL season in 2013. With the West Indies Captain ‘Jason Holder’ and star batsman ‘Shai Hope’ in their squad, the Tridents are sure to create an explosive and spectacular sporting event. Since the inaugural year, Phils Simmons is the head of the team while Manish Patel (CMG Companies) is the Barbados Tridents owner. Known for the amazing team composition and stellar performance, the Barbados Tridents qualified for the ‘Champions League’ and won the CPL title twice (in 2014 and 2019).
