These 5 Indian players will be the key in the decider test

The Border Gavaskar trophy is leveled now after the tremendous knock by Indian side. However, the third game of the tournament will be the decider as both of the teams are perfectly balanced and thirsty for win now. Indian side will miss its regular skipper Virat Kohli while Steve Smith will try to get back his form. If India wants to seal the trophy, then these 5 will be the key players in this game.

Ajinkya RahaneNot just his leading skills, his performance with bat will be as crucial for this game. Rahane has scored a tom in the second game to pave way for the win in the 2nd game and he needs to continue with his form. A lot of dropped catches were the lifesaver for him in the last game, so the Indian skipper must work on his technique against short balls.

Cheteshwar PujaraThe Indian test batting line-up revolves a lot around Pujara. He is the most consistent number 3 batsmen in Indian batting side. However, he hasn’t yet performed in this series so far but, if India is looking forward to claiming the series, Pujara must spend more time on the field. In the absence of Virat Kohli, Indian middle order will depend entirely upon Pujara and Rahane.

Rohit SharmaAll the eyes will be on Rohit Sharma in this game as he is joining the squad after a long wait. Addition of Rohit to the batting side has strengthened the team. With three triple tons in one-day internationals, he can be very effective in test matches as well. He has scored 6 centuries in test matches with one double hundred. His performance against Australia has been outstanding in the last few years.

Ravichandran AshwinOn the turning tracks of MCG, Ashwin crippled the Australian batting line-up and he can be very dangerous in the 3rd game at Sydney. He has kept Smith silent in the previous games, giving his team the edge over the kangaroos. If Ashwin continues his form in this game, India will have better chances to overpower the hosts.

Md SirajIn the absence of Mohammed Shami, Siraj has complimented Bumrah perfectly. He has been excellent in his debut game. He claimed 2 wickets in the first innings and 3 in the second. Not just against the lower order, he has taken the most crucial wickets in the last game, with his consistent line, length and technique. Bumrah will lead the bowling attack for India and Siraj will play the key role in it.

The third game will be played in Sydney from 07 January. Cricdaddy Live Cricket Updates will be available from Thursday.
