Bowling over 145 kph and turning heads during India’s successful campaign at the 2018 U19 World Cup , Kamlesh Nagarkoti found a lover in Ian Bishop among many others. He matched equally of his pace with sharp, equally impressive, fielding skills. because of a string of impressive outings, Nagarkoti was bought for INR 3.2 crore contract by Kolkata Knight Riders at the 2018 IPL auctions.

With roots in Uttarakhand, Nagarkoti was spotted during a Jaipur maidan by coach Surendra Rathore, who encouraged him to hitch the academy. Nagarkoti went on to progress quickly and developed sharp inswinger and reverse-swing bowling skills that helped him constantly bowl batsmen.

Nagarkoti faced rejection on his maiden Rajasthan U14 cricket team trials, came back and worked on the outswinger to chop the mustard in his next attempt. He then went on to be a daily at U14, U16 and U19 teams.

Picked for India U19’s tour to England, Nagarkoti emerged because the leading wicket-taker with 14 scalps across two Youth Tests, and also went on to be a neighborhood of the India U23 team for the Asia cup. With a powerful resume already, Nagarkoti was picked for the U19 team to represent India at the planet Cup.

Nagarkoti made his List A debut for Rajasthan within the 2016-17 Vijay Hazare Trophy and impressed in only his second game, bailing his team out with an unbeaten fifty then rattling Gujarat later with a hat-trick.
