IPL 2021: Cracking RCB’s Masterstroke to Win this IPL

289

The mystery behind the failure of RCB to win a single edition of IPL is still unsolved. The three-time finalists have lost all of them against Deccan Chargers in 2009, Chennai Super Kings in 2011, and Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2016. But they will be eagerly looking forward to proving the name of “chokers” wrong and lift the Indian Premier League trophy this season. They had a quite successful IPL auction this time as they bought Glenn Maxwell from Punjab Kings for a whopping INR 14 crores. Along with him, they bought Sachin Baby, Mohammad Azharuddeen, Dan Christian, and young Kiwi pacer Kyle Jamieson who happens to be the second-costliest buy in IPL 2021 with a price tag of INR 15.5 crores.

But here we list 3 of the top reasons why Royal Challengers Bangalore is one of the top contenders for the trophy this season.

Immense Team Depth

A constant problem that RCB was facing across these seasons was the unavailability of options. They could not replace the players who under-performed and were unable to have a strong bench to get a change in fortune. But in this year’s IPL auction they have bought some top players across the middle and lower orders that can help them salvage the problem. Glenn Maxwell is a top addition to the side who can bat as well as be handy with the ball. Dan Christian and Daniel Sams are also players who can play a quickfire role in batting down the order. This year Virat Kohli indeed would have a lot of options to choose and combine from to have a great IPL

In-form Home Players

Royal Challengers Bangalore has an endless list of quality Indian players who are in blazing form this season. Devdutt Padikkal was a revelation last season and also has some impressive performances this year. Players like Mohammad Siraj and Washington Sundar are already in the groove with Yuzvendra Chahal and Navdeep Saini loading with the fire within. Virat Kohli himself can roar in times of need for his team. Mohammad Azharuddeen is one of the budding youngsters showing promise and playing great this season. Overall the RCB camp looks quite ready for IPL 2021. The Indian players will also have a backup from the highly experienced overseas players and RCB has the potential to be a destructive force this season hoping to rampage all teams and lift the accolade for the first time in their history.

Load on ABD and Virat Kohli is Less This Season

The team’s performance in the auction shows how concentrated and composed RCB is with their decisions and how aimful they are to finally break the chain of ill-luck. The team was mostly dependent on Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers all across these seasons. If they failed to perform, the whole team seemed to dismantle and break down. But players like Glenn Maxwell, Kyle Jamieson, and Dan Christian will bring the much-needed stability and experience to the side. Devdutt Padikkal’s hot form would lessen the burden of two of the most experienced players in the camp. The bowlers’ unit had gained a lot of experience with the ongoing international series. It is another positive for them and would mean that they contain a lot of strength overall to fight all odds throughout the season. This year’s Indian Premier League will be an exciting one to witness since it returns to home soil and players look forward to giving their best performances and fight for the crown of which team would be the best in the whole of the Indian subcontinent.
