The Return of Chinna Thala

Suresh Raina, popularly known as Chinna Thala in the CSK IPL camp is set to return to this edition of IPL. Due to several factors, he withdrew his name from the side last year. CSK dearly felt his absence and his master class resulting in many unexpected defeats. He is the highest run-scorer in CSK’s history and the second-highest in IPL’s history. His prolific hitting style and flair on the field is just what CSK needs this season and was missing last season to lift the trophy.

Leadership of Thala

Chennai Super Kings’ heart and soul, Thala or captain MS Dhoni is himself an intimidating sight for the opposition. His cool mind, handling of pressure, thunderous batting, and lightning-fast wicket-keeping are what any team needs to win anything and everything. His tactics were somehow out of place last season, but this time with Suresh Raina accompanying him as the vice-captain, Chennai Super Kings can be a brutal force in IPL 2021.

CSK’s Master Class in the Auction

Chennai Super Kings bought two of the most prosperous off-spin all-rounders in the IPL auction, Krishnappa Gowtham, and Moeen Ali. Krishnappa Gowtham formerly played for the Punjab Kings where he did not get much chance. But this time he can portray his ability to be a match-winner and confirm his place in the starting XI. On the other hand, Englishman Moeen Ali was one of the top buys in the IPL and could be a huge star this season having left Royal Challengers Bangalore. He can open the innings since the departure of Shane Watson and can also spin the ball in Chennai’s dusty conditions.

Imran Tahir’s Experience

Though aged, Imran Tahir is a serial match-winner and with his deadly spin, he can be dangerous and often confusing. He has an impressive economy rate of 7.83 for CSK IPL and can bring huge success to CSK in IPL 2021. He is expected to make a comeback in the starting eleven as he missed most of the matches last season due to a crisis of playing spot in the team.

Bravo’s Part in the Title-Winning

Dwayne Bravo missed the majority of the matches in last seasons’ Indian Premier League. One of the best T20 players the world has known, he has led CSK to multiple glorious victories over the past few years. He can put a storm on with a bat in hand and can also swing the ball. His competition has increased since last year with the inclusion of all-rounder Sam Curran in the side and he needs to be at the top of his form to make a permanent spot in the team.

Overall Chennai Super Kings’ team looks pretty much balanced with top players across all departments. They are more than ready this season to conquer the title back and bring it to Chennai for the fourth time in the history of IPL.
