After a lot of thought and decisions, the IPL auction had been contested at Chennai earlier in February where teams made some exciting new buys. The IPL is a much-awaited tournament for Indian fans. As the Indian cricketing season commences, here we look at the top 6 Indian and overseas players with the maximum potential to be superstars this IPL 2021 season.

Devdutt Padikkal

Royal Challengers Bangalore’s hearty young opener Devdutt Padikkal has been a revelation last season, where he found a regular place in RCB’s opening duo with Aaron Finch. He has been in blazing form this season in the Vijay Hazare Trophy with three consecutive magnificent tons. Records speak for themselves as it says that for the last five matches he played, his lowest score has been a 52 run knock. He was one of the highest run-scorers in last season’s IPL and can be a brute force for RCB this season too.

Prithvi Shaw

Another player that has caught the expert’s eye with excellent performances is Prithvi Shaw. His form in the Vijay Hazare Trophy has been the one to look for and the IPL teams would fight hard this season to defend this man. He recorded the highest individual score of 227* off 152 deliveries and has been in stellar form. Though he performed weakly in the previous IPL season for Delhi Capitals, he can be a danger this season if given consistent chances.

Suryakumar Yadav

A player with brute strength and high quality, Suryakumar Yadav has been the newest addition to the Indian T20 team and can be a star at IPL 2021. He recently scored a mesmerising knock of 133 in just 58 balls along with a fifty in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. He also had been a consistent performer for Mumbai Indians in the previous edition of IPL. He also consistently proved his value for his team in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and shall be considered as a regular batsman in the Indian team.

Marcus Stoinis

The first overseas player on this list, Marcus Stoinis is a powerhouse of strength and resilience. He had a mixed bag of performances in the previous IPL season for his team Delhi Capitals. He has immense hitting capabilities with the bat in hand and is justly feared by other IPL teams. He too keeps the ability to take crucial wickets in his pocket, giving an all-round performance for his team. His quickfire 78 off 37 against New Zealand made them stumble in the ongoing T20 series.

Mitchell Santner

Chennai Super Kings opted out to release this Kiwi left-arm spinner in this year’s IPL auctionMitchell Santner did not get much chance to prove his worth for CSK last season but can be a regular starter for them this time given that they have a deficiency of spinners. He can bat and with the ball too he took 4 solid wickets to put Australia at the backfoot in the current season.

Jimmy Neesham

The man who hit four consecutive sixes, Jimmy Neesham was bought by Mumbai Indians this season and can be a handy all-rounder down the order. In his brutal knock, he scored 45 off 16 balls and currently is showing great potential to solidify his position for his team. He is highly experienced with a lot under his belt.

The upcoming IPL season would provide great excitement for the fans since the teams and especially the players would put in a different level of a tussle. The IPL too returns to India after the previous edition was played in the UAE.
