Ravichandran Ashwin, who led the spin attack on the guests, bagged 3 wickets in the first innings and 4 wickets in the second innings of the match. Axar just bowled 21.4 overs and 15 overs through the test match and conceded 70 runs in the entire spell. He was awarded as man of the match for his double five-wicket haul in both innings. The second innings of the pink-ball test match was completely dominated by spinners. India used Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, and Washington Sundar, whereas England used Jack Leach and Joe Root.

Ravichandran Ashwin Bagged his 400th Test Wicket in 77th Test Match
The right-arm fast bowler of India Ravichandran Ashwin bagged his 400th test wicket in Narendra Modi Stadium. Ashwin was playing his 77th test match. The Indian spinner is just behind the star spinner Muttiah Muralitharan who bagged his 400th test wicket in the 72nd test match.
England Roster Failed to Analyse the Pitch of Motera Stadium
Indian spinners maintained the pressure on England and stopped them from scoring big runs on the board by taking wickets at regular intervals. The entire batting order of England failed to understand the pitch accuracy and showed no determination in both innings. Zak Crawley was the only player who scored half-century from England roster in the third test match.

Opener Rohit Sharma played good cricket in both the innings of the test match. He scored crucial 66 runs in the first innings to help team India take the lead over the guest. In the second innings, he knocked 25 runs and chased the target of 49 to help India win the third test match without any hassle. Even though the pitch at Motera was difficult to bat, Rohit Sharma maintained his calm and batted exceptionally well throughout the match.
India is currently leading the World Test Championship table with 490 points. England is already knocked out of the tournament. To play the World Test Championship final against New Zealand, India would need to win or draw the final test match, which will be played from March 4, 2021, on the same ground.
